DIY Video Editing

We all know that in terms of content, video is king — but how do you make it look good? You just shot a 10-minute listing walkthrough and want to shorten it to 4… You shot a great Q&A video, but your dog ran riot partway through, and you need to cut it out… How do you do it?

Although many listing photo/video vendors shoot and edit amazing videos, there are a variety of reasons it can be nice to know how to do it yourself! Our new page on SchmidtResources.com is a great resource for some of that info.

Video editing is tough (people literally get degrees in it!), but nowadays, it’s more accessible than ever. We've rounded up a few tutorial videos and some of our favorite editing apps to help you get started. We have no affiliation with any of the apps or companies mentioned; they’re merely recommendations from our digital experts or our agents!

The best tip we can give is to take the time to get to know the apps. You’re not going to get the hang of it right away. And that’s okay! Do a “test” video on one or two apps and see what feels best. Before you know it, you’ll be the Steven Spielberg of Real Estate.
